In Europe, the medical market estimated at 72.6 billion euros in 2007 by EUCOMED (the European association of the industry of the medical systems), that is an increase of 6% of the turnover by year. The sector counts 11,000 companies including 80% of SMEs in Europe.
Lot of expositions, exhibitions are dedicated to this sector. MEDICAL Connection is an alternative by its theme, the subcontracting innovation and its concept, the one to one meetings.
The one to one meetings allow to each participant to preselect the companies according to his centers of interests.
MEDICAL Connection 2011 will bring together 80 contractors specialized in the design and conception of technological medical equipments (medical imagery, prosthesis, implants, surgical instruments,…) and 70 suppliers, offering technologies and skills in the fields as: TIC, electronics, mechanics, mechatronic, plastics,…). The goal: create new partnerships between PME/PMIs, start-ups and industrials.
In parallel of the one to one meetings will be thematic conferences which will present the trend and evolution applying to this sector.
Lausanne, technological medical pole with high potential
Nearly 700 companies officiate in the field of medical technology in the Switzerland market.
MEDICAL Connection will set in Lausanne and will have an European dimension with its proximity with France, Germany, the Benelux countries or Italy and Austria.
Lausanne has the legitimacy thanks to several research and innovation centres, many universities and laboratories with international acknowledgement (EPFL, CHUV, ISREC) as well as lot of industrial well-knows being at the cutting edge medical technologies.
